Fitting a Bask® Louvre Roof has been the Perfect Solution
Built with a large outdoor area to enjoy the stunning views, these homeowners were looking for a way to increase their outdoor living outside of the summer months. This was especially true for their favourite spot for morning coffees or evening drinks, in the deck alcove sitting between the living area and front section of the home. Increasingly they were finding they couldn’t comfortably use the area, because of the wind, rain or beating sun.
After much investigation, they settled on a Bask® opening louvre roof, which allows light in on dull and cloudy days, but can easily be closed for protection from beating sun or rain showers. The drop down screen was an optional extra that has proven its worth, protecting them from the annoying prevailing wind.
Originally the owners envisioned a louvre roof that extended to the edge of the deck, but drawing on the experience of Shane from Louvre Roof Concepts, they soon realised it would be out of proportion with the rest of the deck, electing for a more compact version. Custom made to fit in the unsheltered alcove, this previously underutilised area is now a cosy haven for the homeowners.
A Matt Black powder coat finish was chosen for the louvre roof frame, to match the exterior feature wall and the lights chosen by the customer to include in the finished roof. Whereas the lighter Titania Matt colour was chosen for the louvre blades, to match the joinery and lighten up the area when the roof is closed.
Custom made for the alcove space, the louvre roof has made the outdoor area useable throughout the year and the homeowners are thrilled with the result.
